Marketing things I keep thinking about, now conveniently in writing.
Perspectives | Why I Write
The internet does not need more marketing content for the sake of marketing content.
We’re good there. Very covered.
I’m writing here because I still think there’s room for more useful thinking, actionable thinking, the kind that helps us marketers slow down long enough to ask better questions and make more thoughtful decisions. So often we rush from problem to problem that there's rarely time to figure out how to prevent them in the first place.
These articles are meant to be practical. I’m interested in the space between big strategic ideas and their application. It's how I spend my time in advisory engagements and how I'm most often utilized in-house.
That’s why many pieces include what I have named Perspectives In Practice — a quick activity, example, question set, or way to apply the idea right away. I’ll also pull out useful language in highlighted quotes when a concept needs to be easier to carry into a presentation, team conversation, or leadership discussion.
And since this is a fair thing to say out loud: This is my writing.
I use tools the way most modern people use tools (I'll write about that, too), but I’m not interested in publishing unedited AI copy with my name on it. I’ve always been a writer. Writing helps me express my thoughts more clearly and efficiently than I can verbally. It helps me say the thing the way I actually mean it.
That’s what this section is for. I'd love any feedback from my peers on what's working in my approach, and I am always open to suggestions.
Thanks for visiting.
